It’s Thursday, what’s the scene at your workplace?
I wake up, go on a nice morning stroll to Starbucks, check email, hang out with the dog. When I get back to the office, I plug away on my keyboard with a little Google News or MSNBC in the background, or some sort of playlist, something totally disconnected from the craziness of the world. I try not to schedule meetings before 10-1030a, ’til the coffee’s hit.
What’s on your agenda for today?
I need to be at NBC to film two segments for two different clients, R House and V Gelato. Later in the afternoon, I’ll put out a press release and send some event invitations. Then I have to get ready, because I’m meeting an editor for happy hour and dinner at Claudie.
Any bar or restaurant plans today, tonight or this weekend?
I’m catching up with some people at Sunny’s Steakhouse at some point. Sunday, I’m hosting a new menu release party for V Gelato, to benefit the Miami Veterinary Foundation.
How about a little leisure or culture?
I like to be outside doing active things, whether it’s the pool or the beach or a bike ride. I love to ride from my place across the Venetian Causeway, then the bay to 79th Street, then back down Biscayne. You’re basically on the water the whole time. You might find me at any pool, but I have five in my building, so I usually go there or Soho House.
Any weekend getaways?
I love going to Lauderdale-by-the-Sea because it’s so chill; you just go up there and no one’s on the beach. Mexico City is two and a half hours away and it's my favorite place on Earth. Of course, the Keys any time I can get there because it feels like you’re removed from it all. And the Washington, DC area because that’s where my family is, and they’re my favorite people to spend time with.
What store or service do you always recommend?
I love me a Med Spa, so anytime I can do a little refresh, you can catch me at YS Aesthetics in Davie. I love boutique shopping, so I love shopping at the The Room by Juan Castillo. And there’s a cute boutique in Wilton Manors called Tops and Bottoms, and they have unique clothes for men, it’s really charming.
