It’s Thursday morning. What’s the scene at your workplace?
Most days you’ll find me in my office, likely more than anyone else, except maybe Jay [Philip Parker]. My office sits on the third floor, surrounded by floor-to-ceiling windows that make it feel like I’m working in the treetops. Before work, I start my day with a few rituals that keep me grounded: my pre-made coffee, feeding my treasured aging kitty, and getting in a workout with my trainer. If I’m taking it slower, I like to take a sunrise walk on the beach.
My Thursdays are a blend of Zoom meetings with our developers and check-ins with the sales and marketing teams. Occasionally, I’ll head over to the sales gallery at our recently launched project, The Cloud One Hotel Residences Wynwood, if there’s something specific that needs attention.
What’s on the agenda for today?
A few weeks ago we were in full sales gallery unveiling mode for our latest project I mentioned above. Leading up to the event, we were all hands on deck as we managed a tight timeline to ensure every detail was in place, from the final styling of the gallery to fine-tuning the run of show and coordinating with the project’s principals, who flew in from Europe for the event. This launch is particularly special because it marks the Miami debut of The Cloud One, the lifestyle brand under Motel One, a major player in the European hospitality world, and their first-ever residential concept. It’s a major milestone for the brand and a defining moment for the Miami market.
Any bar or restaurant plans today, tonight, this weekend?
When friends are in town, I love taking them to the Wynwood Walls and then heading to dinner nearby. My go-to spot is Pastis. It’s a place I frequented when I lived in New York, so when it opened here a few years ago, it quickly became one of my local favorites. The atmosphere, service, and (of course) the steak frites never disappoint. If I’m in the mood for something a little different, Kyu is an amazing alternative that offers globally inspired flavors in an elevated yet comfortable vibe.
For lunch, Carrot Express is my go-to. After a workout or a Pilates class, I love stopping by Pura Vida for something fresh and light. And when we’re going out to eat near home, Blue Ribbon is our spot. It’s just steps away, has a great atmosphere, and everyone we bring there ends up loving it.
What was your last great vacation?
Our last great vacation was Greece. We spent about 10 days island hopping, starting in Santorini and then making our way to Mykonos and then Athens. Each stop had its purpose: Santorini for the beautiful sunsets and slower pace, Mykonos for the beach clubs and restaurants, and Athens for the history and energy.
Where are you donating your time or money?
I’m a big supporter of Cycle for Survival which raises money for rare cancer research through Memorial Sloan Kettering. It’s a cause that means a lot to me personally, as my dad passed away from cancer and my dear friend has benefited from Sloan’s incredible clinical trials for over 25 years. I also regularly support St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, which has always been one of my favorite organizations for the incredible work they do for children and families.
